Richmond Farmers Market opens season
Friday, June 4 marked the opening of this year’s iteration of the Richmond Farmers Market.
The Times Ink of Richmond and Huntington is published monthly by the Richmond Times, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The paper is mailed free of charge to all mailboxes in the two towns and the Bolton Access Road, which is delivered out of the Richmond Post Office. Town Forests have been an important part of Vermont’s rural fabric for over 100 years since Vermont’s first Municipal Forest Bill passed in 1915.
In October 2020, state officials discovered an infestation of emerald ash borers (EAB) in an ash tree near downtown Richmond. It was the first confirmed EAB infestation in Chittenden County, a sign that alarmed local foresters. By the time researchers found it, though, the invasive, brilliant-green beetles had likely been here for some time.
